Planning the journey

For this team project I envision our group working together on each step. Regarding communication, my group will meet in person, whether that’s during class time or outside of classes to go over each big step of the project. This way, we will all be on the same page at each step of the project. We will also meet either in person or over zoom to go over smaller details of the project, or if anyone has any questions. My group already communicates on a regular basis, so I don’t see this being a barrier for us. Our topic for our paper was debated by all three of us, and we found a topic that we would all be interested in. This will keep us engaged throughout the entirety of the project.

Sometimes it can be difficult to hold other group members accountable, which is why I chose group members that I knew had a good work ethic and I was comfortable around. This way, if someone does fall behind, I won’t feel uncomfortable reaching out to them or holding them accountable. In nursing school, we are all very busy so it would be understandable if a group member feels overwhelmed. I would like to plan out tasks for each group member before each step of the project, so we all know well in advance the time commitment of each step.

Some of the benefits to completing this project as a team are that the weight of the project isn’t just on one person. With a group, you can rely on your group members as well as yourself to produce a well thought out and thorough project. In my nursing practice in the future, I know I will be collaborating with many different healthcare workers, so this project is helping me build essential skills for the future.

Lastly, a barrier to this project may be a lack of cohesiveness. Since this is a writing project, it gives us each the freedom to interpret research and analyze it. This also means that our analysis of research may not always be the same, so we will need to have discussions about the articles we research. We will also need to make sure the writing in our project flows and doesn’t seem choppy.
