ABOUT ME

Hello everyone! My name is Shannon O’Roak, and I am a senior Nursing major at the University of New England. On campus, I am one of the Co-Captains for the Undergraduate Admissions office at the University of New England. I am also the GAPSA councilor for the Student Nursing Association, and a SASC tutor for almost every nursing class on campus. I currently am employed by Maine Medical Center as a Clinical Nursing Assistant II on a medical surgical nephrology unit. I have a wide range of skills that will help me succeed as a future nurse. These include, but are not limited to, therapeutic communication, active listening, collaborative care of patients, AHA BLS certified, proficiency in epic, and competency in SBAR communication. A future goal of mine  is to attend graduate school to become a Nurse Practitioner after I obtain my bachelors degree in nursing. I am interested in various fields of nursing, including oncology, nephrology, and mental health nursing.
