Planning Change
I anticipate that our dissemination project will run smoothly, since our group I already communicating very well, and we see each other every week at our clinical placement. I do anticipate our project being a little more difficult when we all begin preceptorship because we will be on different schedules. I think we will still be able to communicate through this challenge however, because we have already made a group chat to communicate questions, ideas, and tasks.
The plan I have envisioned for conflict management is to assign tasks for our project ahead of time. This way, if someone isn’t completing their portion of the assignment/project, we can revisit the tasks that were previously established to hold the group member accountable. My plan for conflict management is to communicate with my groupmates at least once a week to ensure no one is having any trouble completing the assignments. I don’t want to be the kind of groupmate that points fingers when someone isn’t participating as much as they should. Instead, I think it would be much more beneficial to have a conversation with my groupmates so the conflict can be resolved in a respectful and professional manner.
I think it is beneficial that we have a group for this project so we can all equally share the work required to complete the project. I think some barriers may include time management and unfair delegation of group work. I would like to address these barriers through communication with each other and planning ahead so we don’t put ourselves in a difficult position when it comes to our project. This will help me in future nursing practice because I will be able to use conflict resolution skills and teamwork. Nurses work together as a team, and not everyone always agrees. This way, I can get some practice communicating my ideas and compromising when necessary.
